Electro galvanized cable tray, also known as cold galvanized cable tray, completes surface anti-corrosion treatment through normal-temperature electrolytic electroplating process, which is a cost-effective choice for indoor weak current cable tray and civil wiring cable tray. The zinc coating thickness of this kind of galvanized cable tray is only 5μm-20μm, with only a single-layer pure zinc coating on the surface and no zinc-iron alloy protective layer, resulting in thin coating, poor adhesion and uneven coverage. Missing plating, peeling and layer falling are easy to occur at cutting sections, welding joints and bending corners of the tray. It can only pass basic 72-200 hours cable tray salt spray test with low anti-corrosion grade. It is only suitable for conventional dry environments such as indoor machine rooms and weak current shafts of civil buildings. In high humidity, acid-base, salt spray and open-air working conditions, electro galvanized steel tray will suffer large-area rust, deformation and damage within 3-5 years, endangering the wiring safety and pipeline stability of power distribution cable tray. It is completely unsuitable for high-demand scenarios such as overseas engineering cable tray, coastal power cable tray and new energy outdoor cable tray, and can only be used as a temporary low-cost cable support component for indoor short-term wiring.

Hot dip galvanized cable tray is a core product of high-end industrial anti-corrosion cable tray. It adopts an integral high-temperature zinc dipping process after forming. The complete tray components are immersed in high-temperature molten zinc liquid at 440℃-460℃, forming a double composite protection structure with inner zinc-iron alloy layer and outer dense pure zinc layer through metallurgical reaction. The standard zinc coating thickness reaches 85μm-150μm, fully covering welds, holes and bending gaps of the tray without missing plating and dead corners. The coating has high hardness, impact resistance and wear resistance. Even with slight surface scratches, it can block substrate rust diffusion through cathodic protection. The hot dip galvanized tray salt spray test can stably exceed 2000 hours, complying with international dual standards ASTM A123 and GB/T 13912. As a high-performance cable support tray, it has an outdoor service life of more than 20 years. It is widely applied in photovoltaic power station cable tray, offshore wind power supporting tray, petrochemical anti-corrosion tray, underground pipe gallery tray and port coastal tray. It adapts to infrastructure projects in high humidity and high salt spray areas such as the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Europe, and is the preferred process type for foreign trade export galvanized tray.

In terms of long-term engineering operation and maintenance and procurement cost performance, electro galvanized tray has a low initial purchase price but weak anti-corrosion performance. It is prone to rust damage and requires frequent derusting, replacement and maintenance, greatly increasing engineering operation costs and shutdown losses, so it is not suitable for large and medium-sized industrial, outdoor and long-term overseas projects. Although hot dip galvanized steel cable tray has a slightly higher initial investment, its super corrosion resistance, weather resistance and wear resistance greatly reduce later maintenance frequency and replacement cost, with higher comprehensive engineering cost performance.
